InterDC Doetinchem

On April 1st, 2021, IceHosting started using a rack at InterDC Doetinchem. Initially for all backup systems, and later also for separated production environments.
The location is ISO27001 and NEN7510 certified. The datacenter is also Tier 3 designed, meaning all components (power, cooling, and fiber) are fully redundant. This provides a minimum availability of 99.982%.
The datacenter has a total of 120 rack positions suitable for up to 5000 servers. In addition, it has the option to build a second data hall, doubling its capacity.

The data hall consists of 250m² of space with a total of 120 racks installed. Thanks to raised floors, all power cables are neatly routed through cable trays. Fiber and UTP cabling is located above the racks. The racks are arranged in hot and cold aisle configuration according to the cold corridor principle. With the raised floor, we can precisely control the amount of cold air via filters at the front of the racks.

The datacenter is secured by (HD) cameras placed both inside and outside. The cameras are equipped with infrared motion sensors so they can also detect movement in the dark. Access to the datacenter and data halls is controlled by an electronic identification system consisting of a unique pass per visitor. This pass is linked to a unique PIN code. We therefore provide "Two-Way Authentication" for maximum security.
All motion sensors, doors, lights, and cameras are connected to a building management system. This system monitors status 24/7 and immediately triggers an alarm if any anomaly is detected. It also monitors critical infrastructure such as temperature in the data hall, power supply, and fire alarms.

The InterDC Doetinchem datacenter

The datacenter is equipped with a dual 3-phase UPS system from Huawei. This system continuously monitors power delivery to the data hall. In case of a power outage, servers can be powered by the UPS system for up to 10 minutes. During an outage, the backup generator starts automatically. It takes about 30 seconds to reach full operation and take over the entire power supply.
Each rack is equipped with two separate power feeds (A+B) of 3x16 amps (no-break).

The data hall & UPS rooms use modern VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) laser detection systems. VESDA is a system that detects fire in the earliest possible stage and triggers an alarm via the building management system. Outside the data hall, CO2 extinguishers and smoke detectors are installed.

The datacenter has more than half a megawatt of cooling capacity from Stulz. Cooling is configured in a 2N setup, meaning each air conditioning unit has a full backup. The temperature in the data hall is set to 24 degrees Celsius.
