Equinix EN1

Equinix has since become the largest operator in running data centers all over the world. We have opened a location within their Enschede facility. This Equinix facility is located very close to our main InterDC location, allowing us to easily set up multiple dark fiber connections.

The Equinix ENS data center is a unique data center because it was built in a former bank building. Additionally, they managed to convert the underground vault into data space. As a result, the servers are housed with extra security.

Security

The data center features 24/7 surveillance via cameras and sensors. Access is controlled by ID checks and electronic badges. The building is a former bank. This means the building meets all the security measures of a bank, such as bulletproof glass, reinforced walls, a vault converted into a data space, and even a nuclear bunker.

The data center holds the ISO 27001 security certificate.

(Emergency) Power

The data center features an N+1 UPS. The UPS is the first to take over the power supply in the event of an outage. Within seconds, 2 generators with a capacity of 2700kVA will start up to ensure continuous power supply.

The data center is designed according to Tier 3 standards and holds the ISO 9001 quality certificate.

Fire Safety

Equinix features an aspirating fire detection system, allowing potential fires to be detected exceptionally fast. Fire suppression is handled by a gas system designed to lower oxygen levels. This causes no damage to equipment.

Air Conditioning

The temperature on the data floor is maintained at 22 degrees. Cooling is based on N+1, meaning an extra air conditioning unit is always on standby should another fail.
